Mechanic and Workshop Foreman

John Austin Ltd regularly invests in the latest cutting-edge technology, to drive greater efficiency and accurate delivery of pasture and crop management.

The Mechanic Workshop Foreman position is responsible for the smooth running of the team to ensure that all of our Agricultural equipment is well maintained and available on time for the job.
Prior Agricultural experience and a trade qualification as a mechanic or equivalent would be a major advantage. The financial package will reflect the position of this role within the company.

The key features of the role include:

Daily supervising and hands-on working with workshop staff and drivers, carrying out machinery repairs and maintenance and liaising with the management team and M.D.

Co-ordinating and directing the workload of the service department for maximum efficiency and productivity – careful planning re sequencing repairs and equipment preparation to ensure timely readiness of machines

Liaising with vendors, procurement of goods and services, budget and cost controls, following internal reporting systems, liaising with Accounts and Workshop Admin

A commitment to Health and Safety procedures, the implementation and recording required to run a safe business

Ability to work longer hours during the seasons

The successful applicant will describe themselves as:
